About Marcie, the petsitter

I graduated with a degree in Psychology from the University of Houston Clear Lake and worked as a mental health case worker in Galveston County.  I left that career because I really wanted to work with animals, and I became a veterinary technician.  

Every day was an adventure, as I was able to spend time with dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, goats and once even a prairie dog.  I learned so much about how to care for and respect the unique needs of all pets, and I strongly believe in good pet-owner education. 

Marcie's Family

     I have been married to Jeff, a Houston firefighter, for almost 8 years.  We have 2 wonderful boys.  They both love animals, especially my youngest, who has named himself an "animal rescuer".    

       Baxter is 9 years old and your guess about his breed mix is probably as good as mine.  He was a  stray who ran into the street in front of my car.  I stopped and opened my door and he jumped right in, and hasn't left me since.  His favorite activities are barking at the vacuum cleaner and curling up on freshly washed laundry.  

        In loving memory of Katie, who passed away on January 8, 2008.  We were so fortunate to have her share our home.
